I absolutely LOVE that! I have always been taught to forgive and send love. The concept of releasing and letting the original sender deal with all the emotional stuff associated with what is essentially their trauma was such a relief to me. I still have to forgive for my own peace of mind but I don't have to try to understand why or where their issue came from BECAUSE IT IS THEIR ISSUE. I don't know why THAT took me 57 years to figure out but now I know....
A psychotherapist taught this technique to me almost 10 years ago. It came up in a discussion about unwelcome thoughts, and the fact that they most likely weren’t my own and that I was picking up on too much going on around me. Her advice was to “return to sender with love.” I wasn’t expecting it and I didn’t want it so it needed to go back. With love. :-)
