The daughter of a daughter of a daughter...
A healing session with a message for both the client and I
This week I did an exchange of services with a beautiful soul who brings the light in a multitude of ways. When it came time for her to receive, she asked for Reiki and gave permission for me to use any of the other modalities in my spiritual toolbelt which felt right for me. This is definitely favourite kind of energy session to give.
I learned to channel sound during sessions about ten years ago and I love doing that. The instructor who helped open up this gift told me I was not learning; in fact, I was remembering. I recall being a little girl, swinging in my backyard and singing these nonsense tunes that came to mind. They were all made up bringing me so much joy as they funneled through.
The sounds that come through for each client vary, for this lovely lady they ranged from deep supportive masculine tones, to light lyrical feminine songs. At one point in the session, a message came through:
You are the daughter of a daughter of a daughter of a daughter of a daughter.
I moved from the head of the table to stand beside her, holding my hands over her heart and sacral areas. The energy that came forward was intense; it went beyond the tingle sensation of Reiki to having physical weight. I ran my hands up and down the length of her from crown to root; the energy in my hands was more than a tingle or heat, it had tangible weight to it. As I continued to move along her spine a column of energy formed above her, thick and strong, then more words.
You are the daughter of a daughter of a daughter of a daughter. All stand behind you as you walk this life and heal the ancient wounds of the past of many. They are strong, as are you. They stand behind you, lending their strength as you walk this path during this important time on Earth. The daughter of a daughter of a daughter of a daughter of a long line of powerful women.
The energy was immense and their strength was palpable. I felt the message was for both of us.
My client felt incredibly empowered after her session. I felt honoured to have experienced that power coming through me.
I have been pondering this message for a couple of days now. I have three sons; my daughter passed away at age five after a yearlong experience of a brain tumour. That makes me the last daughter of a daughter of a daughter in my line.
What does this mean?
My determination to not carry forward long standing traditions of women being mistreated, abused, silenced, and held back in my family is strong. All my ancestors stand behind me to ensure the future is different and balanced for future generations. I do not feel the weight of responsibility; I feel hope that the work I do to open hearts, encourage people to forgive and accept themselves helps create the strength, balance, and powerful force of self-love needed to create a better world for all.
Today I saw this quote on social media.
Photograph is my original taken on the Big Island of Hawaii; quote is from the “Diamond Self” page on Facebook
I truly believe that self-love is the key to so much healing in the world. If I do not truly love myself, I am constantly comparing myself to others, finding myself lacking. I may be looking for my partner, friends, or family to fill up the hole that exists inside with attention, love, compliments, and validation; a hole that will never fill until I am whole on my own.
It is not time for women to rule the world in the place of men; not time for a matriarchy in place of the patriarchy. It is time for balance. Balance can happen if we all love ourselves and then understand that we are all sparks of one divine light, extending that love to all others in the same strength as the self.
Oneness. We are all one. We are all sparks of the divine light of All That Is.
Love yourself as you love the Creator as you are a creation of the Creator, therefore the strength of the love without and within should be equal.
In Oneness,

What a beautiful message! We must love ourselves to heal, to move forward, to do what we love. I am going to write the daughter of a daughter quote!!! Add it to my quotes on post-its wall
