A Brag. A Release. A Wish.

What’s sparking up in My Weird and Wonderful Life?

In the fall, I added a commitment to my calendar that absorbed more of my energy than I anticipated. As a result, there were several things relating to my business and writing that fell by the wayside. That commitment will be completed at the end of January, making room for me to rekindle things that bring me joy.

What things are coming off the back burner, you might wonder? Well, wait no longer, here are a couple of my plans for FEBRUARY…

·         I will be hosting a once monthly in-person Reiki share group for my students in my home, starting in February. I believe it will be on a Sunday afternoon for about two hours. The format will be a little bit of teaching and an opportunity to share the energy. I have two tables so attendees will break into two groups taking turns giving and receiving. This will be free for my students to attend.

·         Also in February, I will also be reviving Sparking Up a Conversation as a once a month gathering over Zoom. Paid subscribers to My Weird and Wonderful Life will have free attendance as a benefit for supporting my writing; others can register for individual sessions. Registration and meeting details will appear on my website mid-January.

My goal is to create a community of healers and spiritual seekers; a place where people can ask questions and share information.

You may be wondering why my New Year’s wish to you features a volcano. In 2020, I had an encounter with Pele on the Big Island of Hawaii, the story is here. She assigned me the task of writing a book about love. I have been plunking away at it for nearly four years and I am determined to make 2024 the year it is complete. I am headed on a brief writer’s retreat with a dear friend who also has a second book in her for a few precious days in January. When Madam Pele, Goddess of Fire and Volcano assigns you a task, you had best get it finished. ;) Wish me luck folks…

Thoughts on bringing in the New Year…

I have spent a good portion of the past six months digging in deep to understand the history of our country Canada, part of Turtle Island, according to the Indigenous people of this land. I have drunk in a small portion of the ocean of information that is out there in order to understand how we all got to the place we are today.

I spent the Winter Solstice at a beautiful sound healing event here in Regina at the Tribal Vibes Wild Fire Healing Centre with Kristy and BuzzRoc Apodaca and Lee-Ann Hoeft of Such N Stuf. It was such a beautiful offering of music, reflection, and community.

One of the highlights of the evening was when Lee-Ann guided us to consider three things for the New Year. She asked us to choose the following three things, not to be shared, but to focus on as we travelled the final twenty minutes of our musical journey.

A Brag – something that we accomplished during the year that we are very proud of, taking time to feel that pride of self and acknowledge our progress.

A Release – something that we are no longer willing to carry into the New Year, allowing ourselves to let it go to the longest night.

A Wish – something that we want to bring into our lives; it could be as small as a $300 pair of blue jeans or as big as world peace.

This exercise resonated strongly with me and it is with vulnerability that I share my choice with you.

My Brag – In 2023, I created and held boundaries for the betterment of my mental and emotional health. There were many times where I needed to redraw the line in the sand, and I did. I am extremely proud of this because it was not easy but worth it.

My Release – I am choosing to release white guilt. There is no benefit from my walking around carrying the guilt and shame of colonization. That keeps me in the past, it is a waste of my energy, and prevents me from moving forward in honest, open conversations. It blocks my mind from understanding with a clear mind. Instead, I will open my heart to hold more compassion and do all that I can to sow the seeds of love and understanding, every chance I get.

My Wish – Oneness. Oneness is my word of the year and my focus will be to do everything I can to see the divine spark of light in all those who I encounter.

One of the books I read in order to better understand the indigenous people of Turtle Island explained the phrase All My Relations. It is as follows:

“All my relations are about balance, that we can choose to strengthen our connection to one another and make it more expanse; that we seek to rise about our old selves, and beliefs, and find a better way forward; so that we can, in effect, walk on water together…. Helping heal the hearts and souls you encounter is a gift of living a more spiritually elevated life.”

My Why…

I am a spiritual health coach whose goal is to help everyone learn to love and accept themselves; I act as a tour guide in their hypnosis or energy healing journey to help them find the answers they are seeking in order to neutralize negative emotions, ultimately to find peace.

I work from a vulnerable state of sharing my own life experiences to help people understand that they are not alone in their struggles; that even after the most horrendous dark night, there is light to be found again.

I believe that there is a Super Conscious Field that contains the collective experiences of our lives here on earth; the answers lie there and we can access the assistance we need to heal ourselves by opening up, by allowing change to happen, and through forgiveness of self and others, when the time is right.

My greatest wish for you is that you Love yourself. Accept yourself, as you are today. Right here, right now. As is, no warranties or discounts applied.
