Chasing the roots of ancient wounds
My Weird and Wonderful Life as a Certified Regression Hypnotherapist
In my hypnotherapy practice, I encounter many people in the process of healing ancient family wounds. In my weird and wonderful life, I tend to draw clients who are working through the same issues I am working through.
People take a seat believing their problem is unique in the world, that there is something fundamentally wrong with them. This could not be further from the truth. It is my belief through research, reading, channeling, along with personal experience that the collective is working through this heavy, old stuff together.
We are crawling out from a cloak of beliefs that shrouded our ancestors for so many years; beliefs in the inequality of people based on gender, race, age, and so much more. Humanity has been burdened by a mountain of “shoulds” justified in a barrage of “it’s always been this way…” and we are tired of living with limits. We have allowed these beliefs to limit our greatness for too long, now is the time to break free of the old patterns.
My practice includes regression hypnosis into past lives as well as what my friend, mentor, and creator of the protocol, Jacquie Balogh, calls Inter-life. Other terms for Inter-life might include Bardo or the life between lives. Guiding people using Regression techniques is an honour and pleasure; it often leads to the root of the ancient wounds where the limiting beliefs are buried, sprouting up into familial tradition.
We carry the weight of habits, beliefs, identities, and issues in jam-packed emotional backpacks, rarely stopping to unbuckle and remove each item to question how it landed there in the first place.
That’s where I come into their lives. To be clear, I do not consider myself to be anyone’s guru, I am an excellent facilitator; a hypnotic tour guide who takes clients to the places they need to go to do the work they need to do. I wear a toolbelt of modalities I have gathered in my thirty plus years of learning so I can pull out anything required to remove the roadblocks in their journey; it might be cord cutting, contract release, a past life understanding, or having a conversation with a younger version of self to clarify understanding.
Not every backpack is like Dora the Explorer’s filled with useful things of wonder, so many have experiences tucked tightly in the corner, which created a belief, which created a pattern, which created a limited life for the wearer.
A fear of commitment to a devoted partner that started with watching a father destroy every piece of electronics in a drunken rage at an impressionable young age, the memory locked deep inside.
A fear of water began with a well-meaning uncle tossing a small child into the water believing that was the best way to have a child learn; “Sink or swim kid.”
Body shame that began with a young girl watching her beautiful mother criticizing her own body in front of the full-length mirror in a daily ritual.
The memory of being ostracized from the community for practicing herbal remedies, creating a fear of being found out in present day.
These beliefs can be unearthed and healed during regression with the help of the Higher Self, our Soul Self, or Super Conscious Mind and a qualified practitioner. I have witnessed this over and again; discovery, understanding, release, and healing creates an immediate effect in the present day.
One of the most beautiful experiences happened when a client ventured into the sacred space to visit a loved one who had passed on. Instead of the expected visitor, an aunt “from the bad side of the family” appeared with a message. This aunt wanted the client to know how proud they were of them, how they could see the positive work that the person was doing through art and their way of being in the world. They wanted the client to know that they were elevating the entire family by lifting themselves up. The sacred work the client was doing was changing and shifting the past as well as elevating the possibilities for those in the now and future; the aunt showered them with gratitude and love.
My own guides have assured me that the work we do, resolving our limiting beliefs and healing these old wounds rises up into the Collective Unconscious, making it possible for the next person and the person after that to find their way more easily.
We all have choices whether to continue walking the path of those who went before us, or carving a fresh trail; forging ahead to create something new for ourselves.
Shed the pack, walk forward unburdened and ignite your passion for life.
